Being you

"It is better to follow your own path, however imperfect, than to follow someone else's perfectly"

Maharishi Veda Vyasa

As children we learn that to make others happy, we have to ‘fit in’. To survive and feel secure, children need to stay connected to their parent, peers, and community. Belonging and connection is everything to children, who rely on love and nuturing to survive.

However, sometimes as adults, we may continue to be what others want us to be, and forget to be ourselves.

Or as Oscar Wilde is reported to have said

"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken"
